PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a member composed of a shape memory alloy capable of obtaining excellent bidirectionality.;SOLUTION: The production method has a memory processing step S14 for performing shape memory processing on a shape memory alloy, a cooling step S16 for cooling the shape memory alloy subjected to shape memory processing in the memory processing step down to a temperature equal to or lower than the transformation point Mf, and a shot peening step S18 for shot peening the shape memory alloy which is cooled down to the temperature equal to or lower than the transformation point Mf in the cooling step.
