PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To trim filter wavelength along a design value by effectively correcting a shift being a manufacturing error that occurs during trimming the filter wavelength of a waveguide type wavelength filter.;SOLUTION: In the waveguide type wavelength filter in which waveguides 11, 12 are configured by surrounding two cores having different lengths with respective upper and lower clads 13, 14, and directional couplers 21, 22 are respectively provided at the input and output ends thereof, one portions of the clads are provided with cladding refractive index adjustment regions 31, 32 for assisting light of a specific wavelength propagating through the one waveguide 11 in passing as a filter wavelength. The cladding refractive adjustment regions 31 and 32 comprise: bottomed groove holes 33, 34 having side wall surfaces 33b, 34b installed along one portions of the respective waveguides 11, 12 to face the respective waveguides 11, 12; and refractive index conditioners 35, 36 filled into one or both of the bottomed groove holes 33, 34 in a freely dischargeable manner to correct a shift of the specific filter wavelength.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
