PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an overprint prediction method in order to predict overprint with higher reliability and with less labor.SOLUTION: Regarding the method of forming an overprint prediction for combination of colors so as to improve the method in order to predict the overprint with higher accuracy and with less labor, a printing substrate and at least two printing colors are provided, and for each of the printing colors, full tone and one gradation of a hue value including color combination are previously defined as hue data of (n) printing colors, and the first one among the whole color prediction including three transmission components and the related transmission spectrum with respect to each hue value are determined for each of (n) printing colors, and with respect to the scheduled color combination, combination is determined at the maximum (3 to n-th power) with respect to the transmission spectrum combined related to the transmission components with respect to the scheduled color combination, and then, the whole reflection spectrum of the overprint is predicted based on the determined transmission components including the transmission spectrum, and the reflection spectrum of the unprinted substrate.
