Process for preparation of bead polymers whose average particle size is in the range from 1 mum to 40 mum, by dispersing and polymerizing a polymerizable composition in an aqueous phase, where the dispersion stabilized by an aluminium compound is prepared at a shear rate =10SUP3 /SUPsSUP-1/SUP. A polymerizable composition is used here which, in each case based on its total weight, comprises a) more than 50.0% by weight of at least one compound of the formula (I), where the radicals SUP1/SUPR to SUP6/SUPR have definitions according to the Description, b) from 0.1% by weight to 10.0% by weight of at least one crosslinking agent and c) less than 49.9% by weight of at least one compound of the formula (II) where the radicals R and SUP7/SUPR to SUP9/SUPR have definitions according to the Description The bead polymers prepared according to the inventive process are particularly suitable for production of mouldings with light-scattering properties.
