PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select sweetfishes that are less apt to become cold-water disease genetically, by using a specific DNA marker representing sweetfish having cold-water disease resistance.;SOLUTION: This method for distinguishing sweetfish, having the cold-water disease resistance, is provided by performing a polymerase chain reaction on a genome DNA of the sweetfish, by using an oligonucleotide consisting of the bases of F:5'-AAGATGCGTCACACGAACAG-3' and R:5'-GAAGGGTGAGGCTGTTTAACC-3' as the primer; performing a gel electrophoresis method to the product obtained and confirming the presence of 170bp band; and also by performing polymerase chain reaction on the genome DNA of the sweetfish by using an oligonucleotide comprising the bases of F:5'-TGCCCTGCAGTGTCAGTATC-3' and R:5'-CTCATCCAATCTCTCAGCCTG-3' as the primer; performing the gel electrophoresis method on the product obtained; and confirming the presence of 143bp band.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
