NAVIGATION DEVICE AND JOURNEY GUIDE DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "navigation device and journey guide display control method" in which the whole aspect of traffic jam situations of road sections being present from a current location to going out of an expressway, without performing any complicated operation.;SOLUTION: While traveling on an expressway along a guided route, on the basis of traffic jam information, among road sections between points corresponding to interchanges, junctions, service areas and parking areas on the expressway, a road section under traffic jam is identified as a congested road section. A journey guide image is then produced and displayed so as to include all identified congested road sections, thereby also displaying a congested road section which is present out of a screen frame in a conventional journey guide image within one screen. Therefore, a user is enabled to grasp the whole aspect of traffic jam situations of road sections being present from a current location to going out of the expressway even without performing any complicated operation such as a scroll operation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
