PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve coin image collation accuracy and efficiently collate detailed features of coins.;SOLUTION: A denomination discrimination processing part acquires the denomination of a coin and a first authenticity identification processing part which receives the acquired denomination executes coin authenticity identification processing. An era identification processing part identifies an issuance era of the coin, a second authenticity identification processing part acquires a feature part template image and a feature range, by retrieving a feature table using the identified denomination and issuance era, and collates the feature part template image with the corresponding part of the input image. An authenticity determination part determines the authenticity of the coin based on processing results of the first authenticity identification processing, the era identification processing and the second authenticity identification processing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
