PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crosslinked ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer excelling in a mechanical physical property such as workability and tensile strength while maintaining a preferable physical property, i.e., an inherent characteristic of the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, and a flame retardant ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer using it.;SOLUTION: The crosslinked ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer comprises at least two kinds of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers having different vinyl acetate unit contents, is obtained by crosslinking an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer mixture having an average vinyl acetate unit content of 26-47 mass%, and has a melt flow rate of 0.01-2 g/10 minutes.
