PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal composition that can make high-speed response while it retains the low-temperature stability of a nematic phase, and to provide a liquid crystal display element and a liquid display using the same. ;SOLUTION: The nematic liquid crystal composition containing 50-80 mass % at least one member selected from compounds of formulae I-1 to I-8 and 5-40 mass % compound of formula II-1.
