PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adaptive equalizer which can be stable and maintain equalization performance under the circumstance where obtained states of input data frequently change.;SOLUTION: An adaptive equalizer of the first mode of this invention equalizes rows of input data which are obtained along a time sequence and housed in multiple taps, using a filter coefficient mapped to every tap, comprises: an adjustment value calculation part to calculate an adjustment value which is the degree of taking in a past filter coefficient for every tap according to the change of time; and a filter coefficient calculation part to calculate a new filter coefficient for every tap based on the adjustment value. The adjustment value calculation part calculates the adjustment value in the tap other than those near a center tap so that the variation to the adjustment value just before the time is larger than the adjustment value in the tap near the center tap whose absolute value of the filter coefficient should be the largest of multiple taps.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
