PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orthodontic device which overcomes defects of conventional orthodontic devices.;SOLUTION: The convertible orthodontic device for coupling a mandible relative to a maxilla includes: a tubular first member; a second member which is received inside the first member to expand and contract in such a manner to form a tubular space and makes relative movements with respect to the first member when the mandible makes relative movements with respect to the maxilla; a biasing member (112) which is disposed inside the tubular space and separates the first member from the second member mutually; and a spacer (120, 124) which is disposed on the second member and is configured to energize the biasing member in a manner that the biasing member exerts biasing force opposite from the relative movements of the first and second members when the spacer is disposed on the second member.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
