PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To predict the useful transmission characteristics of a sound inside electronic equipment.;SOLUTION: A volume prediction device acquires model information of electronic equipment and location information of the intake part and/or exhaust part of the electronic equipment. With respect to for a sound ray showing the propagation path of a sound generated from a sound source in the electronic equipment, the volume prediction device extends the sound ray from the location of the sound source to the direction of the intake part and/or exhaust part until it reaches the outside of the electronic equipment, based on the model information and the location information. Also, the volume prediction device predicts the transmission characteristics of a sound in the electronic equipment based on geometric information in a channel on the extended sound ray.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
