HANDRAIL FOR ASCENT ONTO/DESCENT FROM MAIN ENTRANCE STEP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail for ascent onto/descent from a main entrance step, which can be easily attached to a top surface of an upper frame member of an entranceway floor without damaging it and which can exert sufficient attachment strength.;SOLUTION: A handrail 1 comprises a first base plate 20 that has an approximately L-shaped cross section, horizontal portion 21 and vertical portion 22, and a tightening plate 40 that is slidably attached to the vertical portion 22. Upward saw teeth 43 are formed on the tightening plate 40. A hole is formed at the front end of the horizontal portion 21, and a nut portion is provided on the backside of the tightening plate 40. When a guide bolt screwed into the nut portion is rotated, the tightening plate 40 is moved upward so that an upper frame member 4 of an entranceway floor is sandwiched between the horizontal portion 21 and the tightening plate 40 and so that the saw teeth 43 can bite into the undersurface of the upper frame member 4 of the entranceway floor.
