PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absolute encoder which has high resolution without increasing the number of tracks, an absolute position detector, and a signal pattern arrangement generation method for absolute encoder.;SOLUTION: The absolute encoder includes a sensor capable of reading a signal pattern, and a base which is enabled to move relatively to the sensor, and includes signal tracks having a signal pattern read by the sensor to generate sensor outputs separately in K (K2) stages. The absolute position detector includes the absolute encoder, and an arithmetic unit which calculates the absolute positions of the sensor and base based upon detection results of the sensor outputs.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
