PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably manufacturing a polyester of high quality and a high-tenacity polyester fiber by controlling an esterification reaction by a simplified method.;SOLUTION: The continuous manufacturing method of the polyester comprises a direct esterification process and simultaneously satisfies the following requirements: (1) In the process for preparing a slurry comprising a dicarboxylic acid and a glycol in a slurry preparation tank and continuously feeding it into an esterification reaction tank, the slurry is quantitatively fed to the esterification tank with its temperature controlled within ±4°C from the preset value. (2) The carboxy terminal group concentration of the polyester oligomer at the outlet of the final esterification reaction tank is continuously detected on line and the esterification reaction and/or the polycondensation reaction are controlled based on the detected value. The solid-phase polycondensation reaction method comprises polycondensing the polyester in a solid-phase. The high-tenacity fiber is obtained by spinning the polyester obtained by the solid-phase polycondensation method.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
