PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PET detector module that is reducible in cost, and can increase the total quantity of light effective in detection and provide superior performance of high-speed counting, a radiation detector, a PET scanner system, a signal processing method, and a method of manufacturing the radiation detector module.;SOLUTION: A PET detector module according to an embodiment includes an array of scintillation crystal elements, and a plurality of optical sensors. The array includes a plurality of subarrays which are substantially optically separated. The optical sensors are arrayed covering the array, and receives light emitted from the array. The subarrays are optically separated so that light beams from individual crystal elements arranged in the corresponding subarrays are gathered and received mainly by the optical sensors covering the corresponding subarrays. An optical sensor which receives a light beam from a crystal element of a first subarray also receives a light beam from a crystal element of one single subarray adjoining the first subarray.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
