PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for producing hydrogen selenide which has high purity and in which the water content and the residual amount of hydrogen sulfide are made small particularly.;SOLUTION: High-purity gaseous hydrogen selenide is obtained by discharging the gas in a reaction system by heating while bringing metallic selenium or a selenium compound into contact with high-purity hydrogen at ≤400°C and then continuing the contact of the metallic selenium or the selenium compound with high-purity hydrogen at 500-700°C. It is preferable that the obtained gaseous hydrogen selenide is further liquefied or solidified, the atmospheric gas around the liquefied or solidified hydrogen selenide is discharged and the atmospheric gas-removed liquefied or solidified hydrogen selenide is gasified to obtain high-purity gaseous hydrogen selenide.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
