PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prediction method for the function of a nanofiltration facility, capable of easily designing commercial facilities by accurately predicting the functions of concentration and desalination in a commercial nanofiltration facilities considering the change of a component composition accompanied by operation progress, particularly that of monovalent anion or cation, or the change of the blocking performance of a membrane against the monovalent ions being directed to the continuous and batch-wise nanofiltration facilities, and also to provide a design method for the nanofiltration facility using the prediction method.;SOLUTION: The prediction method includes predicting the function of the nanofiltration facility 1 using a process model formulated by defining two characteristic values a and b related to a transmission flux and two those values α and β as parameters to make reflect the change in the blocking performance of a nanofiltration membrane 3 interlocking with the change in the component composition of a feeding liquid.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
