PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for winding a superconducting coil, capable of winding a tape shape superconducting wire around a winding frame without distorting the wire.;SOLUTION: The method is performed as follows. The superconducting wire 12 is held by both a wire supply spool 1 and a temporary winding spool 4 to be supported by a rotary axis 94. The superconducting wire 12 of the temporary winding spool 4 is helically wound around the winding frame 111 for the portion of one rotation in a state where the winding frame 111 is arranged between the spools 1, 4. The superconducting wire 12 of the wire supply spool 1 is concentrically wound around one area 112a of the winding frame 111 with the superconducting wire 12 helically wound therearound. Then, the temporary winding spool 4 is inrevolvably fixed, while being supported by the rotary axis 94, and also the winding frame 111 is rotated counterclockwise.
