PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for depolymerizing a synthetic resin such as a polyamide or polyester in a simple system without using any autoclave and/or the like, and to provide a method for producing the synthetic resin monomer(s) through the above system.;SOLUTION: The method for depolymerizing a synthetic resin by making an ionic liquid act on the synthetic resin is provided.
