PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more easily, exactly and highly accurately perform an automatic focusing control with a simple constitution where an image sensor for imaging an object image is used also for a focusing control, in accordance with various imaging conditions. PSOLUTION: A plurality of microlenses linearly arrayed crossing the surface of the image sensor 3 on the light receiving part of the image sensor 3 cover the light-receiving part over a plurality of pixels, and a microlens array has the microlenses for guiding light to the plurality of pixels in accordance with the exit pupil position of an imaging optical system 1. Among the plurality of pixels corresponding to the microlenses, the inside/outside of the aperture of the imaging optical system is decided, and pixel data corresponding to the exit pupil positions are extracted over the plurality of microlenses on the basis of the decision results, then, a plurality of one-dimensional images corresponding to the exit pupil positions are reconstructed, the plurality of one-dimensional images are compared with one another, and then focusing information of the object is acquired.
