PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost distance image sensor, a device for generating a distance image, a method for acquiring a distance image data, and a method for generating the distance image.;SOLUTION: The distance image sensor 100 includes diffraction optical elements 131 and 132 in which diffraction gratings for changing the advancing direction of incident parallel light are formed so that, in a coordinate space comprising the x-axis, the y-axis and the z-axis, the incident parallel light is divided into a plurality of split light beams, and a plurality of angles formed with the x-axis and a plurality of line segments demarcated on a predetermined light projection plane intersecting with the z-axis by a plurality of light projection spots formed by the plurality of the split light beams become a predetermined angle.
