PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relatively easily produce thick aluminum nitride.;SOLUTION: An aluminum-aluminum nitride composite 10 is produced by using aluminum 4 and magnesium nitride 8, wherein free energy change of a reaction occurring when the magnesium nitride 8 is mixed with the aluminum 4 at a temperature higher than a melting point of the aluminum 4 to form aluminum nitride is negative. In production of the aluminum-aluminum nitride composite 10, the aluminum 4 and the magnesium nitride 8 are located so that the aluminum nitride 9 contacts with a flat surface 5 of a die 1, and the aluminum 4 is nitrided with the magnesium nitride 8 by increasing temperature to 900-1,300°C in an argon gas atmosphere.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
