PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle electronic apparatus operating device capable of shifting a dial operation part to a protrusion position smoothly when operation is needed, and on the other hand, retracting it to a retraction position surely when operation is not conducted, and furthermore, preventing malfunction.;SOLUTION: An air conditioning operation unit U is provided with an approaching object detecting part 15 detecting an approaching object without contact when the approaching object approaches within a prescribed distance to a dial operation part 2, and a camera 150 structuring an auxiliary approaching object distinguishing part which distinguishes whether the approaching object is the hand of an operator or not. Corresponding to a detection state by the approaching object detecting part 15 and the camera 150, the advance/retreat driving control of the dial operation part 2 by an advance/retreat driving mechanism is conducted. When the approaching object detected by the approaching object detecting part 15 is decided to be the user's hand based on a photographed image by the camera 150, the dial operation part 2 is driven, and thus, malfunction thereof is prevented when an object other than the hand is detected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
