PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a method for determining a flow rate of exhaust gas using an estimated value of intake air flow rate.;SOLUTION: In a test of an automobile by a chassis dynamometer and the like, traveling is performed following a test mode along a region where vehicle speed is low to a region where the speed is high, including several kinds of accelerating and decelerating. From a stroke capacity of an engine, revolution, intake air temperature, and pressure in an intake pipe, an estimating value of intake air amount is obtained simultaneously. On the other hand, a correction coefficient of the intake air flow rate which is obtained by comparing the intake air flow rate measured by another flow rate measuring devices such as a laminar flowmeter and the like with the estimated value is computed. A map taking engine revolution and intake pipe pressure as functions is made for the coefficient. The instantaneous values of the exhaust gas flow rate is computed by adding an air/fuel ratio to the correction coefficient map, an instantaneous engine revolution and an intake pipe pressure value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
