PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fucoxanthin-containing brown algae extraction composition, which can efficiently extract and recover fucoxanthin from a raw material, and further can easily reduce the content of arsenic carried from the raw material such as seaweed.;SOLUTION: At least water and a compatible solvent having compatibility to water are mixed with brown algae to be made into the raw material or a workpiece thereof. Fucoxanthin is extracted into the mixed solvent, thereafter, the fucoxanthin is transferred to an oil phase composed of fatty oil from the mixed solvent and is recovered.
