PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature-compensating element which cancels thermo-reversible stable temperature dependence that exists as a whole in an optical current sensor, and to provide a Sagnac interference-based optical current sensor utilizing the same.;SOLUTION: The temperature-compensating element includes a polarization-maintaining fiber, and a protective layer which covers the outer surface of the polarization-maintaining fiber.
