PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management system, image processing device, document management method of the image processing device, document management apparatus, and document management method and program for the document management apparatus in which processing for document management can be appropriately performed by simplifying operation that a user performs when performing processing for document management such as registration, modification of document data. PSOLUTION: A document management system is configured by mutually connecting via a network a plurality of image processing devices such as digital composite machine 101 and a document management apparatus such as a document management server 102 wherein, in order to perform document management processing such as registration, modification or the like of document data using the image processing device, a user selects a plurality of cover sheets or document originals or a combination thereof and performs scan operation using the image processing device 101 to automatically select and execute a job at a side of the present document management system, so that computerization management job of documents can be performed even without operation due to a head office operator.
