PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a model identifying method for the rotating machine body of a rotating machine device, having simple construction for identifying the model of the rotating machine body while easily and accurately setting a controller connected to the rotating machine device in controlling conditions optimum for the model, and to provide the rotating machine device.;SOLUTION: The rotating machine device is so configured that the controller having controlling conditions adaptable for every model of the rotating machine body is connected via a control cable 30 to the rotating machine body whose magnetic bearing part 10 supports a rotor R. On each of adapter units 23, 24, 25 installed between the control cable 30 and the rotating machine body or between the control cable 30 and the controller 40, model identifying information is mounted for identifying the model of the rotating machine body.
