PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for growing fish and shellfish, suitable for the growth of the fish and shellfish. PSOLUTION: The device for growing the fish and shellfish has electrodes 3, arranged along the both side surfaces of an aquarium 2 so as to face to each other, and an AC power is fed through an insulating transformer 5 and a restricted current circuit 6 from a commercial electrical source 4 to the electrode 3 side. As a result, a sinusoidal current having constant and uniform current density flows in water W1 between the electrodes 3, to load the sinusoidal current on the fish swimming in the water W1 and give electrical stimulation thereto.
