PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a layout selection device that selects a suitable layout from among a plurality of layouts when a content composed of a document and an image is displayed.SOLUTION: A layout selection device 10 includes: a detection part 11 which detects the size and aspect ratio of a display area where a content is displayed and respective sizes and aspect ratios of a plurality of layouts used to display content; a calculation part 12 which calculates matching indexes, indicative of degrees of matching between the plurality of layouts and the display area when the content is displayed in the display area using the plurality of layouts, for the plurality of layouts using the respective sizes and aspect ratios; and a determination part 13 which compares the respective matching indexes of the plurality of layouts with one another to determine one of the plurality of layouts which should be selected when displaying the content in the display area.
