USE OF GLASS FOR APPLICATION TO PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER GENERATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glass specifically suitable for application to photovoltaic power generation, and bringing improved results for the photovoltaic power generation.;SOLUTION: The present invention relates to usage of glass for application to photovoltaic power generation, where the glass has moisture content smaller than 25 mmol/liter and, specifically, greater than 1 mmol/liter. Preferably, the glass used indicates a transformation point Tg in a range higher than 580°C, an operation temperature (VA) in a range lower than 1150°C, and a heat expansion coefficient in a range of approximately 7-11×10-6/K. Such glass does not release any semiconductor poison such as iron, arsenic and boron, can be used for high temperature processing, and especially, is suitable for application to Cd-Te-photovoltaic power generation, application to CIS-photovoltaic power generation, or application to CIGS-photovoltaic power generation.
