PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unburned brick using a phenol resin as a binder in which irritant gas or malodorous gas is hardly generated during temperature increase for preheating, and to provide a method for producing the same. PSOLUTION: The method for producing the unburned brick using the phenol resin as a binder includes the steps of: kneading and molding a mixture including the phenol resin, a fire-resistant aggregate, and a carbonaceous material; and then drying the resulting molded product at a temperature of 350°C or higher in an environment to which supply of oxygen from the outside is stopped.
