PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a structural body having a high activity and durability as a catalyst or the like comprising a carbon material as a support medium on which metal nanoparticles are deposited minutely and uniformly to the extent practicable.;SOLUTION: The method comprises a step of transforming a metal carbonyl complex into nanoparticles by heating and refluxing a suspension of a carbon nanofiber and an organic solvent wherein a carbonyl complex of an intended metal is dissolved and/or irradiating the suspension with ultrasonic waves. A platelet carbon nanofiber is particularly preferred for use in the present invention. Thereby a structural body with metal particles of a uniform particle size of nanometers minutely distributed and deposited on its carbon surface is obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
