PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve drawbacks in conventional techniques with a reasonable and reliable solution, that is, without a positive intervention of an operator while a tire is dismounted from a wheel rim or during the opposite operation, and promote the tire mounting and dismounting operations.;SOLUTION: A rotating means is related to a frame 7 for supporting an operating head 16, so that an automatic device for mounting and dismounting a related tire 6 on and from a corresponding wheel rim 5 can support the wheel rim 5 equipped with the tire 6. The operating head is locatable at a proper height and movable horizontally, and carries at least one dismounting tool 25. The dismounting tool is rotatable about an axis perpendicular to a main spindle of the operating head 16, and is located between a first position wherein it faces in the direction of the center of the wheel rim while searching for and gripping a bead of the tire 6 and a second position wherein it faces in a direction perpendicular to the axis or in the opposite direction while pulling out the bead of the tire 6 from the wheel rim.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
