PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil well electric resistance welded pipe for expansion which can be expanded at a high expanding ratio, and has excellent sulfide stress cracking resistance after expansion in a corrosive environment in an oil well, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.;SOLUTION: The oil well electric resistance welded pipe for expansion having excellent expansion performance and corrosion resistance has a composition comprising, by mass, 0.01 to 0.3% C, 0.01 to 0.7% Si, 0.5 to 2.0% Mn, 0.005 to 0.1% Nb, 0.005 to 0.05% Ti, 0.002 to 0.1% Al and 0.0005 to 0.008% Ca, and in which the content of P is limited to ≤0.10%, S to ≤0.005% and O to ≤0.0040%, and Si/Mn satisfies 0.005 to 1.5, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.
