PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ticket issuing system capable of restraining a ticket paper sheet stored in a ticket printer from being carried away illegally.;SOLUTION: The ticket issuing system includes a merchandise sales data processor allowing a prescribed operation only when receiving registration of an operation responsible person, and the ticket printer connected to the merchandise sales data processor, and for exposing a printing medium by opening an openable and closable cover, and issues various tickets under control of the merchandise sales data processor, by the ticket printer. A lock means is provided to prohibit the opening of the cover in the ticket printer, in the ticket issuing system. Release of the lock means is received only when the operation responsible person is registered in the merchandise sales data processor, and the lock means is released in the ticket printer, when receiving the release of the lock means.
