PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a flicker component precisely even if the flicker component has distribution in an image signal and the flicker component includes variation components other than the flicker component, such as the movement of an object. PSOLUTION: A plurality of flicker detection frames are set to a frame of image signals to detect flicker components for each flicker detection frame by a flicker detection section 1. Reliability in the flicker components is evaluated for each flicker detection frame. For a region, where the evaluation of reliability is low, a generated flicker component is replaced by a flicker component at a highly reliable region. Eventually, a correction value is generated for each flicker detection frame for applying to image signals to correct the flicker components. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
