An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus that displays a color map reflecting a difference in blood flow dynamics is provided. A subject to which a contrast agent is administered is set as an imaging target, and ultrasonic waves are transmitted to and received from the imaging target using a probe. Image data is constructed based on the signal received by the probe, and a temporal luminance change curve is generated from the luminance value of the image data. A value of a predetermined parameter for constructing a distribution image of blood flow dynamics is calculated from the temporal luminance change curve. A distribution image (color map) of blood flow dynamics is constructed from the parameter values. The color map is a two-dimensional or three-dimensional image that is color-coded according to a parameter value. Parameters include contrast agent inflow start time, equilibrium brightness arrival time, contrast agent disappearance start time, contrast agent duration, time to reach a preset threshold, brightness increase rate, brightness decrease rate, and equilibrium brightness. At least one of the total flow rates can be used.
