PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crucible for producing a high purity silicon ingot by melt-casting a silicon raw material without contaminating the same by boron.;SOLUTION: Regarding the crucible for melting and casting a silicon raw material, so as to produce a silicon ingot having a structure where an internal layer in which molten silica powder is coupled by silica is formed at the inside face thereof, the internal layer comprises group 6a elements in the periodic table.
