PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data reading method, a data reading system, a storage device, and a data reading device, capable of improving security by limiting the accessible frequency to the storage device to reduce opportunities for unauthorized reading. PSOLUTION: An information storage area within a portable storage device is preliminarily divided to a use terminal storage area and a data storage area. An information processor determines whether the use terminal storage area has any blank space or not (S207), transmits own terminal information to the portable storage device (S208) when presence of the blank space is determined (YES in S207). The portable storage device permits access to the data storage area when the own terminal information transmitted from the information processor is received and stored in the blank space, and rejects the access to the data storage area when the own terminal information is not stored.
