PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the insect pest control of a plant by high-temperature water while sufficiently protecting the roots of the plant.;SOLUTION: The method for controlling the insect pest of the cultivated plant by the high-temperature water includes inverting the plant into a state in which the leaf and stem parts to which the insect pest is attached is arranged downward and the roots are directed upward, soaking only the leaf and stem parts arranged downward in the high-temperature water for a prescribed time in a state in which the roots are shielded from the high-temperature water inserted into a vessel by an insulating material. The soaking in the high-temperature water is carried out under a condition of a temperature of the high-temperature water and a soaking time, suitable for killing the insect pest without causing necrosis of the leaf and stem parts of the plant.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
