PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably and smoothly deploy a curtain airbag. PSOLUTION: A deployment assist device of a curtain airbag mounted along a roof side rail across a pillar garnish 11 of a vehicle comprises a fixed part 32 mounted to a vehicle body above the pillar garnish 11, and an extension part 40 extending from the fixed part 32 toward the vehicle side of the curtain airbag, and an opening 44h is formed in the extension part 40. The extension part 40 is deformed so that a part 40a on the tip side of the extension part 40 exceeds an in-cabin side of the upper end of the pillar garnish 11 and the in-cabin side of the upper end of the pillar garnish 11 is arranged in the opening 44h by the inflating and deploying force of the curtain airbag.
