PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nematic liquid crystal composition largely improved in light resistance, having 2-10 dielectric anisotropies and suitable for active matrix driving, and a liquid crystal display element by incorporating the liquid crystal composition as a composing member.;SOLUTION: This nematic liquid crystal composition having 2-10 dielectric anisotropies contains one or more kinds of liquid crystalline compounds having 10 or above dielectric anisotropies in an amount of 3% or more, and further a UV absorber.
