PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a substrate for a liquid crystal cell with an optical anisotropic layer that contributes to improving color viewing angle characteristics of a liquid crystal display device.;SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a substrate for a liquid crystal cell includes the steps of, in the following order: [1] exposing a substrate having at least one photosensitive resin layer and at least one optical anisotropic layer on a support by using a photomask to transfer a pattern: and [2] developing the substrate obtained in the step [1] by using a developer solution containing at least one kind of alkali compound and at least one kind of organic solvent having LogP of -0.5 or higher to remove an unexposed portion of the optical anisotropic layer and of the photosensitive resin layer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
