PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organ model that has appropriate hydrophilic property, the cutting feeling where a cutting section spreads like a living body organ when cutting is performed, high tensile strength, and no stickiness, and is suitably used for procedural practice, and to provide a molding material for organ model which can be used suitably for the organ model and a method for manufacturing the same.;SOLUTION: This molding material for organ model contains a crosslinking gel, which containing polyvinyl alcohol having an average degree of polymerization of 300-3,500 and a degree of saponification of 90 mol% or higher, and silica particles. The method for manufacturing the molding material for organ model includes freezing mixed solution containing polyvinyl alcohol having an average degree of polymerization of 300-3,500 and a degree of saponification of 90 mol% or higher, silica particles, dimethylsulfoxide, and water at temperature of -10°C and then thawing the mixed solution.
