PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and effective adiponectin secretion promotor which is an ingredient derived from a natural substance and expectable of more effects by ingestion in everyday life.;SOLUTION: The adiponectin secretion promotor comprises L-arabinose as an active ingredient. The L-arabinose is obtained by adding, e.g. 2 L of an aqueous solution of arabanase to 2 kg of beet pulp, mixing both, carrying out a reaction at 55°C for 24 h, then pressing the resultant reaction product, passing 1.8 L of the pressed juice through an ultrafiltration membrane (6,000 fractinonation molecular weight), successively passing the obtained membrane permeate through a cation exchange column [Diaion SK (R) series], an anion exchange column [Diaion WA (R) series] and a mixed bed column [Diaion SK (R) series+PA (R) series], adding a slightly ingestible dextrin and drying the resultant product.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
