PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fine monofilament having such heat resistance and chemical resistance as to be suitable for a high-precision filter of excellent filament diameter uniformity.;SOLUTION: The monofilament is a polyether-ether-ketone monofilament which is 10-40 μm in diameter and 3.0% or less in variation coefficient of diameter CV%. The filter comprises such monofilaments. A method for producing the polyether-ether-ketone monofilament comprises the following process. In making a melt spinning of a polyether-ether-ketone resin, the resin is first melted, and then extruded via a spinneret into a monofilament, which is cooled and solidified by beginning cooling by a gas within the range 20 mm or greater but less than 100 mm apart from the spinneret to obtain an undrawn monofilament, which is then drawn between a pair of heating rollers.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
