PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a configuration capable of easily specifying a character during fast forward reproduction and rewinding reproduction of a moving image. PSOLUTION: This image reproducing device detects a face area from image frames constituting moving image data, calculates scores of the detected face, selects face images with high scores as best shot images from respective previously set image frame sections, and displays the face images at a face area part of a fast forward reproduction image or rewinding reproduction image of moving image data, or another area. According to this configuration, a face image of a person that easily attracts users' attentions is displayed as one still picture in a predetermined frame section (e.g., 300 frame) to thereby allow the viewers to easily specify the person so that a scene with the person appearing therein can be easily grasped.
