PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casing for engine driven type air conditioner and an engine driven air conditioner, facilitating positioning of a vertical strut, and improving assembling efficiency.;SOLUTION: This casing used for the engine driven type air conditioner has a base 1, and vertical struts 3. The base 1 has a first side part 11 having a bottom flange part 14 laterally extended outwards, a second side part 12 and a top part 13. The vertical struts 3 are formed by forming a first side part 4 confronting the first side part 11 and a second side part 5 confronting the second side part 12 L-shaped in cross section. The first side part 4 has a base 40 confronting the bottom flange part 14, and a fitting surface 42 applied to the first side part 11 of the base 1 and fitted to the first side part 11 by a first fixture 81.
